Nuremberg, 30 January 2023 – The Supervisory Board of Leoni AG today accepted Aldo Kamper’s wish to leave the Company effective 31 March 2023 and to resign his mandate as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as well as the related offices within the Leoni Group with the intention of taking on a new task soon.
The Supervisory Board will be commencing talks immediately on settling his succession. Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) Hans-Joachim Ziems, appointed on 9 January 2023, continues to lead the negotiations on refinancing.
“I very much regret that Aldo Kamper will be leaving the Company,” Klaus Rinnerberger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said. “He took over at Leoni AG in a difficult situation and led the company through extremely challenging times. Recruited to manage the planned growth, he instead proved himself as a crisis manager. I wish him every success in his new job and all the best personally.”
Aldo Kamper joined Leoni AG as CEO in September 2018. “It was anything but easy right from the start,” Kamper said. “We confronted the crises with enduring team spirit. I would have liked to complete the restructuring of this promising company as CEO. However, the challenge I have been offered represents consistent continuation of my career. I could not say no to that.”
