LEONI distances itself from alleged metal surcharge coordination
As reported in the press, the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) is investigating cable manufacturers on suspicion that they have coordinated the calculation and maintenance of industry-standard metal surcharges in Germany. LEONI AG unequivocally rejects this suspicion and hereby expressly and unconditionally distances itself from any alleged coordination/agreement on pricing formulas, metal surcharges, or other competition-relevant topics.
We regularly review our pricing models for our Wiring Systems and determine them, including any metal surcharges and their components, independently and autonomously in consultation with our customers. This applies regardless of which cable supplier the intermediate products are sourced from. We have been and remain willing to negotiate pricing, including the appropriate pricing formula, metal surcharges and their components, individually with each customer and to determine the most suitable pricing model. We have been pointing this out for some time in our offers and customer communications.
